Hello everyone,

We had a busy but great week! The children did well to colour their eagle puzzle piece with all their eagle colours  Then, we worked as a team to assemble them!

Earthquake drill - the children were amazing! We all counted to 60 twice and shuffled out the door to meet up with our cohort group. They did such a great job for  the first drill of the year! Our principal, Mrs. Salemink, wanted us all to give ourselves "pats on the back", she was soooo pleased! Way to go K friends!

Sharing: This week it is free choice - your child can bring whatever they like to share in a plastic bag. Please help them to know who gave it to them, or where they got it from... these questions are often asked. All the children are doing well with sharing their items. Patterns were lots of fun! We kept finding them on clothes everyday even of the children who weren't sharing! We learned they are all around us!

Fresh Grade: I've been loading photos on Fresh Grade and will send the link to you next week for you to have access. It will be fun to see what your child has been doing in class.

(Please remember that when photos are posted on Fresh Grade they are not to be reposted to other social media )

Inside Shoes: Because of the change in weather, we are asking for inside shoes, preferably runners as we will be doing active games in gym. Please make sure they are labelled with your child's name. NOW that we will all have them, I will try hard to remember to have them change them before we greet you at the end of the day.

Upcoming Events:

Sock Hop: On October 29, children will have the opportunity to participate in a Sock Hop with their Orange Cohort group. Should be lots of fun!

Brentwood Spirit Day-- On October 30, children and staff will participate in a spirit day. To ensure this day allows entry points that are comfortable for all of our Eagles, we will have an Eagle spirit day where children may wear either their eagle family colour or a costume. We remind families that this is still a day where we will be observing our regular health and safety protocols, so as such, accessories to costumes and gloves for costumes should remain at home. We also remind families that costumes should be fun and friendly, and to please save masks and scary face paint for home. Thanks to our PAC for the purchase of Eagle shirts for our school-- these are on order and will be here soon! If you do not know which colour Eagle family your child is in, please ask your child's teacher.
