Course Selection Case Study: Ava Cunnigham
COURSE SELECTION CASE STUDY: Ava Cunningham
Meet Ava Cunningham.
She's a grade 10 student who is trying to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. She has some ideas, just like you, but she wants to explore her options and figure out what she will need to take both to graduate and go on do something after high school. To help in this planning, a Graduation Planner sheet is used. You may have used a similar sheet in previous years, but this sheet is now used for your grade 10 year and for planning your potential grade 11 and 12 courses. The Grad Planner sheet is a chance for you to ensure there is a balance between your core or required courses, elective courses and future educational and career goals.
Your task is to analyze Ava's Graduation Planner sheet to ensure that she is taking the necessary courses and writing the necessary exams to enter the University of Victoria.
You will use the Grad Planner sheet and decide if Ava is on an accurate graduation path. You will need to explore the Graduation Program Booklet to determine the different options available to Ava and decide whether or not she has selected her courses properly.
As a guide you should be able to answer the questions on the next page before determining if Ava's course selections are correct. Remember back to the information about graduation planning that you learned in the first assignment.
