Students will start each morning with individual, morning work. This is designed to help settle into the day and limit distractions. 

Our French Language Programme that is evidence based is called Succès syntaxique. It explicitly teaches various sentence structures, grammatical elements and vocabulary. It is a structured literacy program aimed at Grade 4-6 French as an Additional Language classrooms. 

The program is comprised of 4 short lessons per week, each taking about 20 minutes.

Our focus will be on improving student speaking and writing in French through explicit instruction and structured practice.

Module 1:

• Phrase, sujet, prédicat
• SVC (sujet, verbe, complément)
• Prépositions/groupes prépositionnels de temps et de lieu
• Verbes du premier groupe conjugués avec « je » et « tu »
• Verbes pronominaux du premier groupe conjugués avec « je » et « tu »
• Verbes « boire », « dire », « écrire », « faire », « finir », « lire » et « voir » conjugués avec « je » et « tu »

Daily lessons will also include revision of frequent sounds in French and practice of decodable reading passages.
